Mosaic on glass, within a beautiful gold frame, for a "finished" look right away after grouting.  This is a fun, fast, and good-for-all-levels mosaic class.  I have several sizes of frames which will be prepped and ready to accept mosaic work.  We will be working on glass, but it will not be a glass-on-glass traditional style like the window workshop as you will not see through/light will not go through the framed mosaic work.  Thus we can use any type of tesserae - glass, tile, and found objects.  I hold the lazy susan classes and frame classes at the same time as they take the same amount of hours to complete, however use different bases.

Cost $110.00 (minimum of 2 participants)

Techniques in Mosaic Art:

April 18, 25, and May 2nd  Saturdays 9-12:00

May 20, 27, and June 3 Wednesdays 9-12:00

In this class all students will work with various methods of andamento (how the tiles and glass are laid out in a pattern), cutting techniques using a variety of nippers, and how to choose grout colors.  We will work the total of 9 hours on several 4x4 or other shaped substrates to experience a wide variety of cutting techniques and placing tesserae in eye pleasing formats.  This is a technical learning class for those who would like to continue their mosaic experiences and enhance their skills and does not involve creating a finished mosaic work.

Cost $125.00 (min. of 2 participants)

Mosaic Window Workshop:

June 1, 2, 3, and 4th Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 9:00-1:00 Thursday 9:00-11:00 (final day is grouting only)

July 11, 18, 25, and August 1st  Saturdays 9:00-1:00 last Saturday 9:00-11:00 (final day is grouting only)

In this class you will create a large, decorative stained glass mosaic on an antique window.  Mosaic art is fun, relaxing to learn, and can be incorporated into many aspects of your home and garden.

This course teaches you to create a colorful masterpiece from cathedral glass mosaic pieces.  Have a design in mind or email/call me and we can decide on a wonderful design just for your window!  NOTE: This is NOT a leaded, stained glass-type class…it is mosaic art and learning to create glowing works of art for decorative use without all that toxic junk used in leaded stained glass.   (www.ambersartistry.com)

  • For this specialty class, we use cathedral glass, opaque stained glass, and mirror.
  • The cost of this series includes everything you’ll need:  The large antique window, glass tiles, and use of tools, necessary materials, and assistance needed to walk away with a wonderful piece of artwork.

Please note:  If you are taking the intensive version participants will enjoy creating a fabulous artwork within only two days of intensive mosaic layout, adhering, and I will be completing the work with the grouting so they can be picked up completed by Tuesday the following week.  You must come ready with a design and be prepared to work!  We'll stretch a lot during class, but only a small half-hour break will be given for lunch on Saturday.  No make up time will be considered for this class, so be ready to attend all scheduled hours!

Cost: $385.00 (minimum of 2 & max. of 6 participants for the class to run)
